1997 Bentley Brooklands Light Pressure Turbo, special order car with many additional features

An outstanding special order Brooklands LPT with unique specification in fabulous condition throughout, supplied and maintained primarily by P&A Wood.

The car has covered just 52,000 miles with extensive service history, the vast majority of work having been carried out by highly respected marque specialist P&A Wood who supplied the car new. The very extensive service records detail prior maintenance at 1445, 4395, 9265, 16110, 19715, 22216, 25011, 29464, 31525, 33157, 34718, 35408, 38157, 38288, 39547, 42260, 45168, 45943, 47065, 48274, 48527, 48927, 49150, 49611, 50838, 51128, 51351, 52000, and 52476 miles. The car further benefits from a recent suspension overhaul at considerable expense to include new road springs, gas spheres, brake discs and pads to ensure the vehicle rides and handles as it should. The air conditioning system has also been overhauled to ensure correct operation. In addition to the stamped service book we have a large collection of invoices detailing work carried out together with further invoices for parts supplied, old MOT's and full build history from the factory.

This is a unique car with many special order refinements, the original factory order details a total price of 117,500 before discount against a base price of 90,950 for a standard Brooklands at the time. Finished in special order viola blue and fitted with the Mulliner Park Ward smaller rear window for increased privacy which is a very rare item on these cars, the interior is trimmed in St. James red leather upholstery with black top roll and light grey headlining. The woodwork is special order birdseye maple crossbanded with walnut with boxwood inlays, the top surface in figured mahogany with vanity mirrors and picnic tables to match. The whole ensemble is absolutely beautiful and demonstrates British craftsmanship at it's best. The cherry red carpets are protected by factory order red lambswool overmats with a matching lambswool mat to the boot where the twin Bentley umbrellas reside, the rear compartment furnished with footstools. Exterior embellishments to include all badges in red, chrome radiator shell, chrome bumper inserts, chrome bonnet strip, chrome sill finishers, chrome badge bar and chrome flying "B" mascot. Very different from a standard Brooklands and all in wonderful condition throughout.

The Bentley was supplied new by P&A Wood and has been maintained primarily by them throughout it's life, P&A Wood selling the car to it's second owner in 1999 for 70,000 and again in 2005 for the sum of 37,000. This owner was most meticulous and spent a great deal of money at P&A Wood during his tenure of the vehicle before parting with it in 2017 due to declining health, indeed the car was SORN in 2011, 2014 and 2016 as the owner's health deteriorated and covered minimal mileage in the years in between. The fourth owner continued to maintain the car to a high standard and it is this gentleman who had the hydraulics and suspension overhauled, eventually selling the car in 2019 to a gentleman who is a previous customer of ours, a real perfectionist who enjoys detailing his cars to a very high standard but drives them infrequently. Luckily, through a technique which involves constant pestering, we managed to persuade him to sell it to us !

The vehicle is in stunning condition throughout, the paintwork having a deep and lustrous shine, the interior is absolutely beautiful and appears unmarked. Behind the wheel the car performs faultlessly and everything works just as it should, as you would expect with such a meticulous maintenance history. The light pressure turbo endows this model with brisk performance without the rock hard ride of the Turbo R and has long been our favourite model in the range. The condition, history and specification make this is a very desirable car indeed, we lost count of the number of motorists who slowed down to look at the car on our drive back to base, a very special car indeed.

Specification of the period to include split level climate control air conditioning, electric seats, two stage heated seats, cruise control, Alpine stereo with CD player, remote central locking, alarm, immobiliser, electric steering column adjustment, easy entry/exit feature, electric windows front and rear, electric mirrors, heated mirrors, headlamp washers, 16 inch alloy wheels which are fitted with brand new Avon Turbospeed narrow band whitewall tyres all round. A period Nokia telephone is present in the front centre armrest.

Supplied with two sets of original keys and two remotes, original book pack containing owner's manuals, fully stamped service book, A4 binder containing extensive service records, original factory order and build history etc.

The car will be inspected and prepared by an independent specialist for your complete peace of mind and supplied with a new MOT with no advisory notices.

A very special car in superb condition throughout with very comprehensive service records, not to be missed.
