The car has covered just 36,000 miles with only one previous owner and benefits from a superb service history, the service records detailing previous maintenance at 1072, 6639, 9343, 13273, 24284, 27408, 27953, 28753, 29412, 30643 ( over £6,000 spent ), and 32882 ( £1,800 spent ). In addition to the fully stamped service book we have a large collection of service invoices together with the original purchase invoice and every MOT from new. The car will pass through our workshop upon sale for complete peace of mind and will be supplied with a new MOT with no advisory notices.

The car stayed with the original owner until 2016 when it was purchased by our client to add to his extensive collection of around 30 historic and classic Jaguar cars. The gentleman owns a large PLC and his Jaguar cars are his passion, he is well known in the Jaguar community and maintains his cars with no regard to expense, investing far more than each vehicle is worth to keep the cars in tip top condition. Stored within a large building constructed specifically to house his car collection, none of these cars are allowed out in the rain so this car suffers none of the usual corrossion which can plague this model. In addition, the gentleman employs his own mechanic to continually tend to his vehicles so in fact far more work has been carried out on the car than is detailed in the service history.

Behind the wheel everything is exactly as it should be, this car is fitted with the factory sports suspension option making it far more responsive to drive than the standard cars which tend to feel quite soft and floaty, in short this feels like a proper sports car and, coupled with the manual gearbox, makes the car very involving to drive and it would easily show a clean pair of heels to a V12 Auto on a country road. We would go as far as to say this is the best driving XJ-S we have ever had and never fails to put a smile on your face. The straight six AJ6 motor is particularly healthy and pulls like a train while returning surprising fuel economy, easily doubling what you might expect from a V12 model, this is a classic Jaguar that you can use and enjoy without breaking the bank !

The car is finished in stunning jet black with cheviot tweed interior and presents exceptionally well, this is easily amongst the best and certainly the most original examples available and would be a great addition to any collection whilst providing a huge amount of pleasure to any marque enthusiast.

Specification of the period to include climate control air conditioning, central locking, electric windows, partial electric seats, original panasonic telephone with instruction manual, 15 inch lattice style alloy wheels are unmarked and shod with correct Pirelli P6000 tyres all round, all fairly fresh. The original Jaguar radio is in place and switches on but we cannot make it tune in to a radio station, perhaps time for a radio upgrade ? There is also an original 1980's car telephone, a real trip down memory lane !
