1980 'V' Silver Shadow II, same ownership since 1988, SRH 38793

A stunning, low mileage low ownership example which only became available through bereavement.

Purchased by an elderly gentleman from the original owner in 1988, ownership transferring to the gentleman's widow upon his passing in 1992. The lady never used the car but couldn't bring herself to sell it as it was her husbands pride and joy. Since then the car was collected every year by a local garage and taken for an MOT and service with instructions to do "whatever was needed" and then put back into the families garage. The old lady sadly passed quite recently and we were contacted by the surviving daughter, who was in her 60's, and asked to find a new owner for the car.

We have a stamped service book with the vehicle showing previous services at 3471, 9771, 16270, 18976, 19529, 25314, 29646, 32752, 34830, 37259, 38630, 39603, 43418, 44743, 44788, and 44801 miles. There is a further service stamped with the mileage omitted however it was probably only a very few miles over the previous service ! Since this time the servicing has been carried out as described above, the car being serviced with every MOT test and being looked after by the same garage since 1989. In addition to the service book we have every previous MOT for the car which demonstrate literally 1 or 2 miles driven between MOT tests - the car had covered 44,710 miles in 1989 and we have just taken her over 45,000 ! Since our purchase we have had the vehicle fully re-commissioned and serviced at marque specialists Bowling Ryan to include a full braking system overhaul and full mechanical service in readiness for re-sale. In addition to the service records we also have the purchase invoice when the gentleman bought the car for the sum of 21,000 in August 1988, quite a sum back then.

When we collected the car it's engine oil was spotlessly clean, as if the oil had been changed that day. The battery earth lead was disconnected to prevent the battery going flat and once this was re-attached the car fired immediately and quickly settled into a perfectly smooth idle. The car drove beautifully back to our premises and clearly demonstrated how well the car has been maintained, despite very little use. The bodywork and interior are truly exceptional and everything appears to be totally original throughout, Bowling Ryan commenting that this is one of the better ones they have seen. The car has always been garaged and the appearance bears testament to careful ownership.

Finished in stunning Walnut, a gorgeous colour very representative of the period and complemented with Magnolia hide and dark brown carpets which are protected by dark brown lambswool over rugs, the rear compartment further equipped with footstools and vanity mirrors.

Period specification includes electric seats, split level climate control air conditioning, cruise control, electric windows, central locking, original radio and 8 track tape deck, fog lamps, headlamp wash wipe, 4 Avon turbospeed tyres etc. Everything just as it left the factory.

Supplied with original book pack complete with owners manuals, stamped service book etc.

This is a superb example of a late Shadow II with low ownership and low mileage, offered for sale for the first time in 30 years ! Cars with this provenance very rarely come to market.

The car will be inspected and prepared by an independent specialist and supplied with a new MOT with no advisory notices.
