1987 'D' Hooper Silver Spirit, previously sold by ourselves, meticulously maintained throughout

This is a beautiful motor car which we had the pleasure of supplying to a local elderly owner earlier this year who sadly, due to his advancing years, feels the car is too big for him. The car has covered just 55,000 miles with extensive service history, the service records detailing previous maintenance at 387, 1060, 3647, 5624, 7038, 8624, 9012, 12395, 12514, 13411, 17040, 21519, 33001, 35493, 35521, 36605, 36136, 40936, 46974, 48719, 51323, 52735, 53311, 53688 and 54119 miles. In addition to the stamped service book we have an A4 folder containing many invoices for work carried out, several service invoices do not have a mileage entered so the car has had further services in addition to ones listed above ! We also have old MOT's, communication from the RREC, valuation certificates etc. The car benefits from approximately £20,000 worth of Hooper refinements in addition to the purchase price of the car, making this a very expensive vehicle in 1987 !

The first owner, after Hooper registered the car, was a director of Neste Petroleum and spent much of his time abroad, the car being left with Storacar London who had HR Owen take care of the annual servicing. The second owner purchased the car in 1997 and retained the car until our acquisition earlier this year, this gentleman was an RREC member of many years standing and this car is a former concours competitor.

The vehicle drives exceptionally well reflecting the fastidious maintenance history. The lovely old gentleman owner is a marque enthusiast and real perfectionist who loves going through his cars to make everything work as it should, this was a lovely car last time we had it and has been improved by the owner during his tenure.

Finished in Royal blue with light blue hide, blue top roll, blue knee roll, blue carpets and blue headlining, the interior is exceptionally attractive and further benefits from Hooper wooden door inlays front and rear. The carpets are protected by matching light blue lambs wool over rugs. The rear compartment is further complemented by foot stools and vanity mirrors. Additional Hooper refinements to include chrome lower sill covers which are vented to prevent corrosion, chrome badge bar, chrome wing mirror covers, chrome wheel covers, Hooper badging and leather rimmed steering wheel.

Specification of the period to include split level climate control air conditioning, cruise control, Hooper specified Blaupunkt stereo with graphic equaliser and power amplifier, central locking, electric seats, electric windows front and rear, electric mirrors, headlamp washers, matching Avon narrow band whitewall tyres all round, the front ones having covered less than 200 miles. We are informed by the previous owner that the Hooper stereo system alone was £3500 - in 1987 !

Supplied with all original keys, original book pack containing owners manuals, stamped service book etc.

This is a rare and exceptional motor car with a superb history which deserves to go to a home where it will be pampered and maintained for future generations. It is beautiful to look at and a joy to drive and offers real pride of ownership.
